Children’s Sustainability and Energy Tour

Thank you for your interest in our Children’s Sustainability and Energy Tours. We are thrilled to offer an exciting educational experience for the brilliant minds of our future. We have devised a teacher’s guide based on the N.C.D.P.I. Standard Course of Study and content for kids of all ages.
Tours take place at our Eco Industrial Park in Downtown Pittsboro. On site we have:
- Piedmont Biofuels – Biodiesel plant
- Piedmont Biofarm – 4 acre sustainable farm
- ECO (Eastern Carolina Organics) - farm to table distribution
- EcoBLEND – makers of organic pesticide, herbicide and other products
- Vermiculture – NC’s first certified human food waste worm composter
- The Abundance Foundation – a non profit dedicated to local food & renewable energy
- Biodiversity Project – the park’s native landscape promotes pollinators and is drought resistant
Suggested Donation, $5 per person
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your staff for your time during our visit to the Eco-Industrial Park. Everyone was very gracious.
The information presented really enabled my students to put into perspective the material we have been studying in A.P. Environmental. We had a great time!“
Sincerely,
Karen Vinson
