Biography
Tami Schwerin was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, and graduated from Broughton High School.
She has been active in the business community for the past fifteen years, including international software sales and marketing that has taken her around the globe several times.
The births of her two sons brought her closer to the local community and caused her to increase her involvement in the arts, local charities and the community.
She was the driving force behind Abeyance, an ecological development of 450 acres, and she has renovated four recycled homes in the village of Moncure.
As the President of Chatham Marketplace, a locally owned whole foods grocery coop, she has raised over 1 million dollars in working capital.

Sales and marketing, assists with publicity, and construction management.
Chatham Marketplace—Pittsboro, NC
2003- Present
President. Responsible for fundraising, marketing, hiring, and overseeing the publicity efforts of a startup grocery store. This project has entailed the sale of over seven hundred memberships, over a hundred individual investment blocks, plus the negotiation of loans and loan guarantees. Actively involved in board process, and permitting with local authorities.
Blast Internet Services— Pittsboro, NC
2001-2004
Sales and marketing director. Oversaw major account development, trained new sales reps, responsible for a multi million dollar sales and marketing budget. Responsible for new business generation, and new market development.
Altadore Investments—Moncure, NC
1996-2001
Owner/Manager. Successfully developed a 450 acre tract of raw land into a low density housing development in Chatham County. Included design and implementation of roads, environmental covenants, individual lots and a trail network with easements spanning 600 acres, or roughly 1 square mile of protected real estate. Included the sale of over forty lots, including a number of other homes and land in the community.

1993-1996
Sales and marketing. Led the sales force for worldwide software sales. Trained sales staff, orchestrated marketing plans and worked with distributors in over forty countries. Traveled extensively. Managed relationships with Fortune 500 accounts, and both national and regional governments. Also developed business with educational institutions and healthcare providers.

Sales and marketing. Sold computer technology to retailers and end users around the United States. Worked as part of a broader sales force, developing telecommunications and other markets. Extensive trade show involvement in all major U.S. markets.
