The Abundance Foundation in cooperation with the Town of Pittsboro is helping to facilitate additional entertainment and floats designed and built by local merchants and non-profit organizations.

IMPORTANT DATES:

***December 1st: Work Day scheduled at Piedmont Biofuels Plant to build and share resources: 10-4pm, bring a dish to share and we’ll start creating! Click for directions.

***December 2nd, Sunday: 3:00 p.m. Pittsboro Christmas Parade!

***Please be there by 1:30 pm and line up beside Food Lion on Martin Luther King Drive. The Town of Pittsboro will put everyone in order. Horses need to be in the very back and BYOPS. Pooper Scooper!

Parade Participants:
Council on Aging partners with Salon Blue: “Beauty through the Ages”…a stylist will be on the float with people that are dressed in the era that they were born on actual
salon chairs.

Friends of the Library will have their Bookmobile in the parade and partner with McIntyres.

Carnivore Preservation Trust and French Connections are perfect together along with The Bead Hive: conservation of species as they dress their float in african prints, statues, animal costumes, and beads!

Chatham Arts & The General Store work together on performing arts as a theme….sure to be cool!

American Livestock Breeds Conservancy pairs with Fusions and Twin Rivers to create a float with the beauty of rare breeds and art.

Head’s Up and the Flamingo Restaurant are pairing up!

Abundance Foundation & Piedmont Biofuels have a couple of ideas up their sleeves along with Nationwide Insurance.

Habitat for Humanity partners with Southern Energy Management to build a gingerbread/dr. seuss theme!

Chatham Marketplace, CORA and Eastern Carolina Organics create a food masterpiece.

Carr Amps pairs with Tony Sullivan, Chatham County Together and Baroke Builders.
Haw River Assembly is going to be with our famous local artist, Clyde Jones!

Shakori and Pittsboro School of Yoga….Breathe!
Realty World Carolina Properties will be teaming up with the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree to provide Christmas gifts for specific children in need. The theme is Angels Around the World.

Haw River Christian Academy with cute kids!

FVRC has a float that is introduced by the W.I.N.G.S (women in nice gowns) Lots of kids and music on the float. This is sure to be a highlight….women (and maybe some men!) will be dancing in front of the float in beautiful gowns donated by Beggars & Choosers and 2nd Bloom.

The Plan: December 2nd, 3:00 p.m. we parade down East Street for the most spectacular Pittsboro Christmas Parade. We finish up and go to the General Store Cafe to celebrate the spirit of the season! A work of art. Community in action.
