Local Food Distribution Systems
We see that a Food Distribution Center would be located on one of many Community Supported Educational Farms which are the next evolution of the CSA. A network of farms that offer all of their products combined to the community at a location that the community would come to for recreation, education, community service and community rituals.
The Center would support a dialogue on the internet and in person between the local farmers and the community. The farmers need to coordinate the production of communities food needs and the community needs to know how and when they could support the farmers various and numerous labor needs, i.e. planting, weeding, harvesting and maintenance.
The Food Distribution Center would work best if the local farms were networked together with the Community Educational Farms and were owned by the community as a part of the Commons.
