make your own medicine: creating an herbal home apothecary
Saturday, March 26th, 10am-2pm
AbunDance Healing Arts Sanctuary, located 5 miles north of Pittsboro.

Empower your self healthcare and save money by learning how to create safe and effective herbal remedies from plants that grow locally. Join community herbalist Kim Calhoun as we make yummy anti-viral elderberry syrup and potent anti-bacterial echinacea tincture, two valuable allies for your family’s prevention and treatment of cold, flus, sore throats and more.
We’ll gather at AbunDance Healing Arts Sanctuary where participants will be inspired by Kim’s extensive home apothecary as well as a brief walk around the yarden to gather wild greens to garnish and fortify our lunch. Participants will experience several methods of tincture making, including working with dried and fresh plants, leaves, flowers, and roots.
Go home with an ounce of elderberry syrup (please bring a small jar with lid), recipes, resource list, and the know-how to get started making your own plant medicine!
