Giles Blunden Co-Housing
On Saturday, we had a full house of individuals interested in a different way of living. Giles was his brilliant self as he explained co-housing to the group. Some were new to this and some had experience with co-housing. What I took away from the conversation was: we need to think about the future and about climate change.
Whether it is a man-made issue or a natural issue, it doesn’t really matter….the end result is the same and we need to prepare ourselves for a change in weather patterns, a change in social, political and economical paradigms. We need to truly conserve our resources. We are experiencing extreme drought, peak oil issues, far away food safety issues and we have the tools, technology and brains to deal with all this….so let’s get started.
As a group, we need to fuel and feed ourselves. We need to deal with our own waste stream and we should go ahead and give back some energy to others.
Some resources to read up on are: Getting Started & Co-housing characteristics. Remember, this is a democratic, consensus building, transparent, organic process. Next gathering: sometime in January 2008.
