Harvest Connect Timebank of the Triad
(HCTBT) is a network of individuals and organizations working together to increase efficiency, opportunity, and resource sharing through mutually beneficial exchange – while building community ties and community connectedness. (HCTBT) will strive to encourage all members’ strengths and involvement. Resources that may not be as accessible due to financial situations, location, insurance, qualifying factors, isolation etc. become accessible to everyone through TimeBanking. In an era of declining government funding, TimeBanking provides a practical tool to mobilize the resources of citizens in a community in a way that enables people from diverse backgrounds to know each other, help each other, and reweave community, while building trust and skills.
What is a timebank?
A Timebank is a community of people who help each other by sharing their abilities, talents, and experiences. We all have needs and gifts to share. When you provide a service for another TimeBank member you can earn one TimeBank Hour for each hour you spend providing the service. You can then exchange each TimeBank Hour you earn for an hour of service from someone else.
