Empower your self healthcare and save money by learning how to create safe and effective herbal remedies from plants that grow locally. Join community herbalist Kim Calhoun as we make a potent anti-bacterial echinacea tincture**, a valuable ally for your family’s prevention and treatment of cold, flus, sore throats and more.

We’ll walk through the Herbal Health Learning Garden to meet, nibble and discuss a few of Kim’s favorite plant friends to grow at home before digging up echinacea root to process together. Participants will experience several methods of tincture making, including working with dried and fresh plants, leaves, flowers, and roots.

Go home with four ounces of “in-the-making” echinacea root tincture (a $35 value), recipes, resource list, and the know-how to get started making your own plant medicine!

**tinctures are concentrated liquid extracts of herbs
