Abundance Pepper Seed Packet

Your “share” of the Abundance Pepper helps create abundance on a grass (ok, pepper) roots level by supporting our community seed saving initiative.

This pepper is one of several varieties of resilient, delicious peppers being developed by farmer Doug Jones specifically for our region’s climate and soil. They are literally born to grow here.

You will receive a packet of seeds direct from Farmer Doug. Pepper seeds are best started indoors, eight to ten weeks before the last frost date. Plant outside in full sun once all risk of frost has passed...they love heat, and moist, rich dirt. Plants should be spaced about 18-24 inches apart. Water in dry weather, and watch ‘em grow. And when you’ve enjoyed your pepper---it’s time to start over again!

Save your pepper seeds! Select only the finest, healthiest and tastiest specimens for seed saving. Scrape the seeds off the core, let them dry, thenstore them until February, when they’re ready to begin a new life of service to the delight and survival of human beings. Doug saves a lot of vegetable seeds, and he reckons peppers are up there with okra and soy beans for easiest to process.
